Step 1: Knowledge: The Future
The first of the three steps to meaningful change is knowledge. If our youth do not see themselves in the future they will act as if there is no tomorrow and these are their last days. They will live aimlessly, recklessly, and dangerously to their peril. Our youth must understand that they have a place in our communities and a job to do. It is our job as parents and grandparents to teach them what their role in history should be. They must know and understand the good works of the ancestors that came before them that allow us the freedoms we have today. This information allows them to make informed choices about the path they should take. Once they obtain this knowledge then they will know how high the bar has been set for them. After all knowledge has been gathered and shared, the continuation of the unfinished work of the ancestors begins.
Step 2: Pride Leads to Hope
Once pride and hope are stripped from a people or a community, both will inevitably implode. It is vital if we want to rebuild our communities then we must reestablish pride and understand the benefits of it. Knowledge leads to pride and hope. Pride comes from knowing your history which enables you to know your worth, these two elements are important and must be mastered. Then you will know that you are much more than a cog in the wheel of your community and your actions and opinions carry weight.
Step 3: Skills Matter
Lastly, the third step in meaningful change, vocational training will be needed to sustain our communities as I eluded to in step 1, our youth must continue the good works of the ancestors by using skills that would sustain the necessities needed to survive in a society. We obtain those skills through education by focusing on areas necessary to sustain a home within a community such as plumbing, electrical, welding, agricultural, architectural, and building skills. These are some of the necessary skills needed to sustain one’s community. We will be concentrating on those skills that artificial intelligence cannot yet accomplish to ensure that our youth have more viable options. This will lead them down a pathway to making relevant choices that will guide them to the much-desired hope needed in our communities today.
A noticeable change will occur in our communities if we follow these 3 steps, knowing your history, knowing you’re worthy of pride, and knowing that there are obtainable educational skills available that will be needed in the near future and beyond. The 2672 Project is committed in helping communities gain this knowledge.
